New CRO Requirements For Personal Public Service Numbers (PPSN’s)

Dear Friends,

Hope all is well.

The Companies Registrations Number (CRO) has announced that the requirement for PPSN’s disclosure will come into force from the 23rd April 2023.  All directors will be required to file their PPSN with the following forms:

  • Form A1 – Company Incorporation
  • Form B1 – Annual Return
  • Form B10 – Change of directors and/or their details
  • Form B69 – Notification by an individual that he/she has ceased to be a director and/or secretary

The disclosure of the PPSN’s is aimed to help protect against identity theft concerning the set up of new companies that have used false directors details and will be used for identity verification only.

Company directors should ensure that they are aware of their PPSN and the variation of their name that is registered with the Department of Employment and Social Protection (DEASP) to avoid any late filing caused by delays in relation to the PPSN which can result in late filing fee’s and the loss of audit exemption for companies.

The PPSN’s will only be used for validation purposes and will not be available for the public to access on CRO sites and the CRO will not be able to view the PPSN.

We hope you find the above informative and useful for 2023. We will continue to update you on any changes in tax legislation or from Revenue guidance throughout the year.

Kindest Regards
